Madeline was the girl I went out with. I don't remember her last name anymore. She and her family were like family to me while I was stationed in England. Madeline had blond hair and worked at a factory right near the base at South Ruislip. Her friend, Doris married my friend Marty Puffenburger and they moved back to the states. Madeline lived in a housing development, as you walked from the base to the underground station. As you passed under the station, you kept walking South to the first corner, turned right and walked the block, crossed a busy road, (I think the road we crossed was coming from Northolt), and kept walking another block or so. I don't think it was to the end of that block but there was a turn off from the sidewalk that we took. We turned right again and came into that housing development. I can't remember her street. Her parents lived in a house facing to the right also, which to me would be North if I remember right.
She and her family were so sweet and nice to me. I just want to see if anyone could put me in touch with Madeline again. Find out how she and her family are? She and her family have crossed my mind over the years....

Nige, we met hitchhiking Greece to London in 1977, ran out of money in Beligium. Bummed fags, ate raw forage corn and begged for the last few quid needed to ferry back to UK. And then there was the crazy hangliding German and his magic bus thru then-Yugoslavia and ice-caves in Austria. Couple of years later I just showed up in Ruislip, and off we went to Amsterdam...another adventure. Anyhow, I was reminiscing with my wife about our times together and thought it would be great to tip a jar with you once again! --Cheers, Greg

I am a 91 yr old Canadian veteran WWII who had the privilege of knowing Miss Webb and her family who resided at 12 Acacia Ave. They have been remembered fondly and thought of daily for their kindness and generosity which regretfully, was never communicated so many years ago; for this, I remain greatly burdened with guilt and sadness. It would mean the world if some relative, friend, or acquaintance could let me know that my deepest apology and sincerest thank you was finally received before my passing. I simply was unable to communicate my feelings at the time and have lived in the deepest regret.
Anyone who remembers me from Contim Motors, south harrow
