Motte-Bailey Mound

This mound is reputedly the remains of a motte-bailey castle. It may have been started soon after 1066, and subsequently abandoned before 1086 when the Doomsday Book was comissioned. There is a moat around the mound, but is now almost always dry. This mound is located within the Manor Farm Complex.
