How does Chinese medicine work?
Chinese medicine is a truly holistic form of medicine and it aims to treat
the whole body rather than just the symptoms. It emphasises the body as a whole,
concentrating on strengthening the patient's immune system and correcting the
imbalance of the internal organs.

How does Chinese medicine
complement western medicine?
Due to the nature of medicines used,
western medicine is more effective for acute symptoms while Chinese medicine is
more effective on long term illnesses. With certain conditions where western
medicine fails, Chinese medicine has more effective results, complete cure being
common.

What
are the treatments?
Herbal treatment includes: dry herbs to be taken as tea, herbs in tablet
form, powders and lotions. Prescribed on diagnosis to improve the general
condition of the patient and to correct the body's imbalance.
Acupuncture is a form of treatment involving insertion of thin steel needles
which stimulate vital energy points. Its aim is to regulate the channels of
energy, re-establish the energy balance and the relieve pain. Only disposable

How to prepare your herbal drink
You will be given a certain number of bags. Each bag will be a mixture of
different herbs and will be used to make two cups of herb drinks.
The herb drink tastes bitter, yet, if you think about how much you suffered
from the illness, the result will be worth it. If you feel it is too difficult
to drink, add some honey or sugar to it. To avoid nausea, they should be taken
20 minutes after meals.
To get the best results, please follow these simple steps:
- Empty all the contents of one bag, including any powder into a large
saucepan. An earthenware or enameled saucepan is recommended.
- Add about one litre of water to cover the herbs completely. Leave the
herbs to soak for at least one hour.
- Bring to the boil then simmer for about an hour (about half a litre of
liquid should be remaining)
- Strain the herbs and pour the liquid equally into two glasses.
Then.....
- If you have been prescribed one bag per day, drink one glass in the
evening and the other glass the next morning. Repeat the whole process every
day.
or
- If you have been prescribed one bag for two days, drink one glass in
the evening and the other glass the next evening. Repeat the whole process
every second day.

Suggestions for directions below map
(4 Health was called Erdos))
From central London. We are about 14 miles from the
heart of London
- Leave London on the A40 following signs for Uxbridge/Oxford.
Leave the A40 at the A4180 junction, know as the Polish War Memorial (the
large "exit" signs are so marked).
Keep ahead on this road taking a slight right fork at the first (mini)
roundabout.
At the traffic lights you will enter Ruislip High Street, we are 100 yards
up the road to the left at the large crossroads by the zebra crossing
(Ickenham Road).
Distance - Polish War Memorial - Erdos 2 miles, 10 minutes
Parking
From the west of London
- Head towards London on the M40, which in turn merges with the A40 just
after its junction with the M25.
- Exit the A40 just after it ceases to be a motorway at "Swakeleys
Roundabout" which will be signed to Ruislip, Ickenham and Uxbridge.
Take the Ickenham/Ruislip turn.
- Keep ahead on this road at two roundabouts and you will come to a
"T" junction in the centre of Ickenham, turn left towards Ruislip.
Pass over the railway bridge and up to a mini roundabout by the "White
Bear" public house.
- At this five exit mini roundabout (entertaining!) you need to take the
second exit, which is straight on, where the 1st exit is sharp left and
easily not noticed. We are on this road immediately to your right just as
you enter the shops.
Distance - Swakeleys Roundabout - Erdos 3 miles, 10 minutes
