The time now in Ruislip |

I would suspect you are reading this page as your advert on Ruislip Online has expired.
Firstly can I thank you for your financial support. Whilst Ruislip Online is, to me, a hobby, not having it also as a financial burden does allow me to devote more time to it, and that makes running the site more pleasurable.
Of course the flip side to all of this is that by promoting your business (etc.) on the site I hope that I have driven some traffic your way and thus you have more than recouped your costs by way of increased income.
Your advert is more than just the TAB on the site however, by having your site linked off a number one ranked Google site it helps push YOUR OWN WEB SITE (assuming you have one) up in the rankings.
I suspect, as with most advertising, it is very difficult for you to know if you got any business as a result of your advert. Unless somebody comes in to your business and actually says "I am here as a result of your advert on....." you do not know if the advert was a success. So when it comes around to deciding if you are going to renew your advert, which I very much hope you will, what I need to give you are some facts about the traffic to the web site.
In the case of the TABS (which are shown above) these appear on every page on the site (more or less) and as at October 2010 the exposure rate was running daily at around 1250 (actually this figure is really on the pessimistic side, some days it is over 1500, and in April 2011 a figure of 2030 was recorded) per day. It tends to pick up when the dark evenings are upon us, so will be higher than this in the winter. That means that your advert is being shown to potential customers 38,000 times per month or, putting it another way, your TAB gets shown to potential customers around half a million times a year.
So that is half a million adverts for £45.00 - surely the best value advert you have ever placed!!!
Your advert, having expired, has now been removed from Ruislip Online, (and if you have a web page hosted on the site that will be removed in one month) but do not worry, with a few strokes of the keyboard it can be back up on the site in a matter of hours. I still have all the details from when the advert was placed, so to put it back up on the site all you have to do is follow the instructions below.
Ruislip Online is also pleased to be able to offer advertisers randomly appearing BANNER adverts. These appear, at random, on just about every page (you will see one at the head of this one). You can have a banner or you can have a TAB or you can have both!! Just let me know on the form below how you would like to renew. The form is simply an easy way for your to e-mail me and to give me the information I need - it is not cut and dried and simply opens up a dialogue between us.
Banner example below

To renew just fill out the form below
If you do not want to renew please use the same form - it all becomes obvious as you go through it!
If you are NOT going to renew your advert please advise me via the form below.
Finally - a massive thanks!!!

Dear
According to my records your TAB advert on Ruislip Online has now been running for a little over 12 months and has expired.
First and foremost can I thank you very much for your support over the last 12 months and I do, of course, hope very much that you will decide to renew your advert for a further year.
In order to simplify my procedures for dealing with adverts I have now removed your TAB, but DO NOT PANIC (!) for it can be put back up in a matter of hours (and the result is that it moves it around on the list of TABS and makes it look "fresh")
All I ask you to do, to renew your advert, is visit to http://www.ruislip.co.uk/advertising/expired.htm where you will find a simple little form to complete. You have to option there of paying online or my sending you an invoice. It will take you 30 seconds to complete the form, 30 seconds to get around 1/2 million adverts for £45!! Surely the best value on the Internet!!!
There is also another option on the site - banners - explained on the page in question.
If you visit the page linked you will find details on traffic and advert exposure rates.
Finally, thank you for supporting Ruislip Online, your local community web site, bringing people in the local area everything they need to know about Ruislip, from travel information to history sections through to the very very busy messageboard and even directions to the crematorium! All provided free to users, but with your help.
Thanks again
Philip J Duerden
